The Florida Democratic Party has entered its Taylor Swift era.

Following the release of the superstar singer’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on Friday, the party is mobilizing its fans to “Tay-ke back Florida” through a voter registration drive targeting women among 18 and 30 years old.

The campaign, “Florida Dems!!!,” was inspired by Swift’s new song “Florida!!!”

In a text message sent to registered Democrats in that demographic on Friday afternoon, the organization said it was asking Swifties “persecuted by cheating Republicans and tortured by the prospect of another cruel summer in Florida” to join a organizing call with the chair of the Florida Democratic Party. Nikki Fried at 6 pm on April 25.

“Fighting for Florida can feel like an incredible drug!!!” the text said, urging voters to support Amendment 3 legalizing recreational marijuana and Amendment 4 protecting access to abortion in the state Constitution.

A party spokesperson said the campaign has been in the works since Swift released her “Tortured Poets Department” track list in February, but that the party has not been in contact with Team Taylor. Politico previously reported on the planned campaign.

The initiative aims to recruit young volunteers and provide training to register voters and re-register inactive Democrats before the November elections. Democrats have fallen behind Republicans in voter registration as the state has drifted to the right in recent elections.

Swift has historically chosen her spots when it comes to activism and political involvement, sometimes to the dismay of some listeners. But she reprimanded then-President Donald Trump in 2020, and his rise to unprecedented levels of success and celebrity with last year’s Eras Tour has sparked speculation that an endorsement of President Joe Biden could change this year’s presidential race.

While Swift probably isn’t a White House secret agent, as some conservative conspiracists have theorized, she will have an excellent chance of winning thousands of votes in Florida when she performs three shows at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami from October 18-20.
