Video shows coyote chasing woman and dog through Massachusetts neighborhood

A Massachusetts woman found herself in a terrifying run-in with a coyote while walking her dog Thursday afternoon. It happened in the Bowes Avenue area of Quincy, while Keri Chojnowski was walking her dog at approximately 3 p.m. “It was scary. Actually, she had never been so scared,” she said. Chojnowski’s close encounter was caught on camera. The video shows the coyote jumping a fence chasing her and her dog, Brody. “I was shocked to see that she jumped the fence,” she said. “Then I started running.” She was desperately trying to distract Brody and get him home as the coyote moved down the street. “I was dragging him, come on, Brody, come on,” she said. Coyote sightings are not uncommon in the neighborhood. A few years ago, a small Maltese dog was the victim of a coyote attack in the area. And around dusk on Friday, NewsCenter 5 spotted another coyote casually strolling down the block and running between houses before disappearing into a nearby marsh. “They run. They just run,” said one resident. “Animal control, when I called “There’s nothing they can do about it because they’re protected and they said the best they can do is what I should have done: don’t be quiet, make noise, have a horn, have a whistle.” Chojnowski said.

“It was scary. I’ve never actually been so scared,” she said.

Chojnowski’s close encounter was caught on camera. The video shows the coyote jumping a fence chasing her and her dog, Brody.

“I was shocked to see him jump the fence,” she said. “Then I started running.”

He was desperately trying to distract Brody and get him home as the coyote moved down the street.

“I was dragging him, come on, Brody, come on,” he said.
