HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — These days it seems like you can’t drive anywhere in North Carolina without seeing a new store or restaurant under construction.

That sentiment holds true for much of the country, as once-regional brands continue to expand their presence across the country.

These are the five fastest-growing brands in the state of North Carolina, according to Yelp.

Cinnabon is expanding its plan in the state of North Carolina.

Currently, there are 20 Cinnabon locations in the Tar Heel State. Four of those locations are in the Triad with locations in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Mebane and Stokesdale.

The fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant is expanding rapidly due in part to its 2018 acquisition of Zoës Kitchen.

Many former Zoës Kitchen locations are now CAVA locations, such as the one at Friendly Center in Greensboro.

Currently, there are 24 CAVA locations in North Carolina, there are 3 locations in the Triad, two in Greensboro, and one in Winston-Salem.

In fact, Yelp lists CAVA as the fastest growing brand in the United States by 2024.

3.) Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

Everyone remembers the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich craze of 2019, so it’s no surprise to see the fast food chicken chain appear on the list.

Not long ago, North Carolina was considered the country of Bojangles and KFC, and Popeyes locations were few and far between.

That has changed in recent years, as there are now 34 locations in North Carolina.

2.) Ashley

The people of the Triad certainly know a thing or two about furniture, and places like Thomasville and High Point take pride in their furniture markets.

So it should come as no surprise that a furniture store is on the list.

Yelp lists Freddy’s as the fastest growing brand in the state of North Carolina.
