Two people suffered minor injuries after a two-car crash near Copper Sky Regional Park this morning.

Maricopa Police responded to the site of a damaged Jeep and Hyundai at West Bowlin Road and Desert Cedars Drive around 8:15 a.m.

Corporal Cory Benoit was on scene directing traffic around the accident while the two cars were towed and debris was swept from the street.

Benoit said two people were transported to Exceptional Hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.

“Nowadays, with air bags, we’ve seen much less serious injuries,” Benoit said. “It just seems worse than it really was.”

Police believe the accident may have been caused by a glare that made it difficult for drivers to see.
